A trip to the museum…
Yesterday we took Max to the Natural History Museum to visit the Minerals Gallery and the Vault—and wow, what an experience! He ran from case to case, eyes wide with excitement, calling out the names of the stones and asking a million questions. Of course, we didn’t leave without a few new treasures from the gift shop!
Watching Max light up reminded me why I wrote Max the Gemstone Finder in the first place. It’s a playful, rhyming story inspired by our gem-obsessed son—but at its heart, it's also about something much bigger: the importance of nurturing children's passions.
Whether it's rocks, robots, space or sea creatures, encouraging kids to explore the things they love can spark a lifelong love of STEM, build confidence, and deepen our connections with them.
Max the Gemstone Finder is for kids—but it’s also for the parents, teachers and caregivers who want to see the world through a child’s eyes. It even includes fun extension activities to keep the discovery going long after the last page.
